I´m happy and proud to announce that I have just recently joined Dream Cymbals family of artists. I´m looking forward to playing these cymbals that are designed in Canada and manufactured in the traditional cymbal making area of Wuhan, China. I’m also really happy for the possibility to collaborate with an instrument maker that has Green Policy and Recycling Program. I think that my Saari drums will be happy for having such a good cymbals around them.

Camerata Flamenco Project and Raul Mannola have released new albums in April 2015.
Camerata Flamenco Project’s “Impressions / 10 Aniversario” is both a compilation of the 10 years of the history of the group and a new live DVD where the trio formed by Pablo Suárez, José Luis Lopez and Ramiro Obedman is performing impressionistic music. I´m participating on some tracks in the compilation album.
Raul Mannola’s “40 Años de Guitarra” (40 Years of Guitar) is a compilation of the career of this flamenco guitar pioneer of Finland. There’s is also some new Raul Mannola material on this album.
I am particularly happy to participate on some tracks of both albums and want to wish all the best for the following years of Camerata Flamenco Project and Raul Mannola!
Happy New Year to everybody! In my case the year 2016 will start with an interesting one month trip to Finland to work with some great musicians and dancers. First we’ll start the long waited recording sessions for forthcoming Joonas Widenius Trio album at Global Music Centre Recording Studios in Helsinki. Just after the sessions there will be some days of rehearsal and the premier of a new dance piece by Aho & Lundén Company. For me it will be really interesting to perform that piece, because it´s not only about playing some percussion, but I’ve also written some of the music on that piece. After the premier I’ll have an opportunity to have some days off and visit my family in Tampere area and then it will be about returning to Helsinki to work with Compañía Kaari & Roni Martin in Helsinki Documentary Film Festival called DocPoint and Helsinki Flamenco Festival. So it’s going to be a really inspiring beginning for the year 2016. I’m just hoping it will not be too cold up there in the North…
